Hoyas basketball a major disappointment
Disappointment can’t even begin to describe this past season for the Georgetown Hoyas, who began the year ranked as one of the top 10 teams in the entire country.
Many felt that the Hoyas early season struggles were simply the result of playing one of the absolute toughest schedules in the entire country and that the team would step it up once Big East play began. The team did not recover though, even when they seemed to gain a little momentum heading into the Big East tournament. Instead of winning a few games and possibly making the NCAA tournament, the Hoyas fell flat on their face in the first round. They then proceeded to get bounced early from the N.I.T.
Things aren’t looking all that much better for next season, especially with the news that star forward DaJuan Summers is heading to the NBA.
About the only bit of good news is that it appears as though center Greg Monroe will hold off on the NBA and return to school. He could certainly use another year or two of seasoning before heading to the pros.
