Georgetown Hoyas star Greg Monroe was selected with the seventh pick in the NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons, after a season in which he was a first-team All-Big East performer. He brings immediate help to a Pistons team lacking productivity from their big men.
Monroe was widely viewed as the most skilled big man in the draft, possessing great skill in not only scoring but also passing and helping run an offense, no doubt skills he refined while running the Princeton offense under John Thompson III at Georgetown.
